Don't worry - you don't have to undergo any medical assessments to join the Motability Scheme! If you receive one of the following mobility allowances, and have at least 12 months' award length remaining, you could be eligible!

Higher Rate Motability Component of the Disability Living Allowance
War Pensioners' Motability Supplement
Enhanced Rate of the Motability Component of Personal Independence Payment
Armed Forces Independence Payment

CHILDREN UNDER 16

The Motability Scheme supports families who care for someone with a disability to help you stay mobile.

You will be eligible to apply for the The Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) on behalf of your child from their third birthday, it is possible to apply for the allowance before this date as long as the eligibility criteria is met.

Children who receive HRMC of DLA can remain on this benefit until their 16th birthday as long as they continue to meet the criteria to be eligible.
